I have embarked on so many new things this week! A new diet, a new home (We signed on an apartment Monday!), and new commissions using specially printed fabric from Spoonflower.com.
I'm making dresses for my friends Alexa (The girl who I made the Nyancat dress for, who is also a good friend) and Lauri (my good friend and talented wig maker. She will be making all of my wigs this year, and she may even have a few at GoDaikocon for sale!) out of very neat fabric I really look forward to working with.
I'm working on a super secret project with my friend Nikki, aka Esperella. She's a model who is starting to build her portfolio. We're going to auction off the dress for charity. Where should I auction it though? I thought ebay would be to impersonal. Not everyone has a Facebook, Deviantart, or livejournal. Any suggestions?
I'm also making a lot of new decisions, some very hard to make. The hardest was the choice not to attend Anime Iowa this year. It breaks my heart. I had so much fun, I met so many people, and I've had many many attendees say how excited they were to see me again this year. However, I have volunteered to be a very big part of Lolitafying GoDaikocon in Pontiac. Its a smaller convention and it will be close to my new home, close enough to drive rather than have a hotel. I've also volunteered to run four panels.
Next year, though, I will spend the slower winter months building a much more ample back stock.
Finally, I have made the decision to keep my etsy basically closed (With only a couple of items) until I'm all moved in to the new place.
I hope this doesn't change anyone's plans! If you want a commission please please please contact me ASAP. I have a huge and very important commission coming up in August, and it will probably take at least two weeks. Before that is GoDaikocon, and before that is the big shoot with Nikki, and before THAT is the move, so I'll be working all I can between each big event, but I will have to limit my commissions. Sorry!
I suggest you pop on over to www.spoonflower.com thought and check out the cool prints all over the place. The fabric may be pricey, but having a one of a kind JSK or OP you will love forever? Priceless right?
